Matthias Bauss, Managing Director and Co-Founder, established Spark after leaving Warner Music International where he held the position of International Director/TV Marketing for 4 years. Responsible for the territory of World ex-US, he was in charge of developing and producing single-artist and multi-artist compilations, creating TV spots for the products and overseeing their marketing in all countries. Amongst others he produced TV advertised greatest hits or concept albums by Cher, The Eagles, Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart, Burt Bacharach, Busta Rhymes, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Stone Temple Pilots, Chicago, Simply Red and international multi-artist compilations such as the successful MTV Unplugged series. Product developed by him and his team has sold in excess of 25 million CDs.

Previously, he held the position of European Marketing Manager for TV Concepts and Special Projects at Sony Music's European Headquarters in London. He oversaw the growth of non-traditional music distribution, licensing and produced amongst many others releases and albums including the development of "KuschelRock" - biggest selling love compilation series in the world outside the German market place.

Born in Germany, he has two degrees, the Bachelor of Arts International Business (with English and Spanish) and the German degree 'Diplom-Betriebswirt' (i.e., MA in Business Administration) His honors level dissertation addressed the impact of green issues on BAYER AG corporate strategies in the chemical industry.
