Who we are

Songmasters' programs are carefully designed to connect with the public through multiple points of intersection with peoples' daily lives, penetrating the clutter of today's media saturated environment in order to achieve significant positive results for our clients while benefiting their chosen charitable partners.

Our most recent work includes the design and development of a unique, revenue-generating consumer services platform for Health Source RI, the RI Health Care Exchange, and of several arts-related projects to develop new brands, revenue streams, facilities and capacities. These include POBA/Where the Arts Live, an online multi-media gallery developed for the Bernard Foundation to bring to the public the creative genius of talented artists whose work was not recognized during their lifetime, and other projects.

Our past programs have resulted in substantial benefits to major corporations such as American Express, Time Warner, AT&T and General Motors, among others. Major regional and online businesses have proceeded through significant transitions with our assistance (e.g. Emigrant Savings Bank and its new EmigrantDirect.com online banking service; EmpowHer's expanding online and digital media capacities).

Numerous large non-profits have relied upon us to develop new brands, new services or re-vamp their image and promotional materials such as the Council on Competitiveness, Coalition for the Homeless, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Komen Race for the Cure and HealthSource RI, the Rhode Island Health Care Exchange.

Our programs simultaneously benefit causes ranging from Mentoring to AIDS Research and from Human Rights to Health Care Access. We solve problems, create opportunities and improve revenue streams for our clients.

Where Doing Good is Good for Business®

Songmasters was founded in 1994 expressly to bring the power of music and celebrity to the aid of charitable and educational endeavors. Every program developed by Songmasters either earmarks direct support through each program to one or more designated beneficiaries orfinancial support is made possible though our own donation of a portion of our profits annually to charity. Songmasters' Senior Partners also do considerable pro-bono work.

Some examples of Songmasters' philanthropic activities include:

Songmasters has developed programs and initiatives for our clients which substantially benefited many charitable and educational organizations such as HelpUSA, Mentoring USA, Communities in Schools, the New York City Public Schools, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Komen Race for the Cure and more. Included in these was a 1500-school music competition and scholarship program developed and delivered by Songmasters in cooperation with the Smooth Jazz Foundation and Emigrant Savings Bank.

Songmasters has also provided pro-bono or low cost assistance to numerous charitable and educational organizations such as the Coalition for the Homeless, The V-Day Project, The Girl Scouts of Greater New York, The Innovation Network, and Think Quest, among many others.

Songmasters' own program, Listen To Me®, benefits the GRAMMY® Foundations' Grammy Camps, the Songwriters Hall of Fame Scholarship Programs (endowing the annual Holly Prize), and the web-based technical resources provided by Artists House Music.

Songmasters has also been the recipient of two Ford Foundation grants for its own educational programming, The American Road®, an interdisciplinary educational program in development which will use American music to tell the story of the great struggle and achievement of the 20th Century in America - civil and human rights.
